Facultat de Física Martí i Franquès, 1, 08028 Barcelona, Spain. See http://icc.ub.edu/about/contact/facilities
Description
The meeting takes place at the University of Barcelona (Astronomy and Meteorology Department) at the "Seminari del DAM" (http://icc.ub.edu/about/contact/facilities) Accomodation: You can also book any other hotel in Barcelona preferably close to the metro line L3 (green line) which stop directly in front of the faculty (station "Palau Reial"), or the new orange line L9. A very well connected hotel is the "Catalonia Barcelona", located at Plaça Espanya (http://www.hoteles-catalonia.com/es/nuestros_hoteles/europa/espanya/catalunya/barcelona/hotel_catalonia_barcelona_plaza/index.jsp). The airport bus stops in front of that hotel, and from there it is only 5 stops with the green line to the university. Transportation: If you stay close to Plaça Catalunya, the trip to UB takes about 20 minutes using the green metro line L3, direction "Zona Universitaria". You should get out at "Palau Reial". Note that the best option is to buy a 10-trips ticket (which can be used by several persons at a same time). From the airport, take the new metro line L9 (orange line) directly to the final stop. One trip costs 4.30 EUR. Alternatively, the "Aerobus" travels directly to "Plaça Catalunya", stopping also at "Plaça Espanya". One trip lasts about 30 minutes and costs 5.90 EUR. If you leave on Friday, take the suburban train to UAB (or vice-versa to Plaça Catalunya) which takes about 40 minutes. Pay attention to purchase tickets for 2 zones!! From there, the "Aerobus" goes directly to the airport. Otherwise take the taxi directly from UAB to the airport (cost between 40 and 50 euros). Useful links: Barcelona metro: http://www.tmb.cat/en/home Barcelona Aerobus to the aiport: http://aerobusbcn.com/ Barcelona Tourism: http://barcelonaturisme.com/ Wifi: There is a free Wifi established for the time of the meeting, with the following coordinates: wifi.ub.edu Identifier: bnjnia.tmp Password: xdfp77 Description CTA Calibration Meeting SeeVogh: There will be a working Seevogh connection during the full meeting which allows to give and/or to listen to presentations remotely.
