Visas and Related Information
A valid Australian visa is required regardless of the length of your stay. Please apply for a visa well in advance.
We recommend to apply for an eVisitor subclass 651 visa. With this visa you can undertake business visitor activities (and have a holiday) and stay up to 3 months. It is free of charge, but you have to hold a passport from particular countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Republic of San Marino, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Vatican City).
Another visa is the Electronic Travel Authority subclass 601. With this visa you can undertake business visitor activities (and have a holiday) and stay up to 3 months. It is free of charge, but involves an online application service charge of AUD20. You have to hold a passport from particular countries (Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong (SAR of China), Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, Norway, Portugal, Republic of San Marino, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States of America, Vatican City).
If you don't have a passport of any of these countries, you will need the Business Visitor Stream subclass 600 visa. With this visa you can make general business and take part in a conference and stay up to 3 months. It costs AUD145.

From Overseas
Adelaide is well served by a moderate number of direct international flights each week, with carriers including China Southern Airlines, Air New Zealand, Malaysian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Qatar, and Emirates. Adelaide's international (and domestic) air terminal is located about 7km west of the University and, depending on the time of day, travel time from the airport to the city can be as short as around 15 minutes.

Adelaide's international and domestic termini share the same building, so comments as to airport-city transfer mentioned above apply also to domestic flights into/from Adelaide.
