How to travel to l'Orme?
By public transport
The Orme des Merisiers Campus is accesible via buss from the RER stations Massy-Palaiseau and Le Guichet, as well as by buss direcly from the Orly airport. Or by a long walk from uphill from Le Guichet. Total travel time from the Paris station St Michel - Notre Dame to l'Orme is around 1h to 1h15m.
For route planning we suggest the official IDF Mobilities web-page or its app version. As a second choice there is also citymapper which is also a web-page and an app (it will get you to l'Orme but insist you walk to a different stop when you want to leave).
The name of the bus stop is Orme des Merisiers, Saint Aubin and is reachable
From Massy-Palaiseau
Using lines
- 91-06 (easier to find, more people)
- 91-10 (less crowded, harder to find)
From Le Guichet RER station
Using line 9, note that during mornings the bus often fills completely and leaves some people behind (but they come relatively frequently).
When leaving the RER, go down the stairs on the platform and turn right to the exit. The Bus station is down the hill a bit from the RER station (follow the crowd of people, who will all be going to the same bus as you)
From Orly airport
- Using bus line 91-10 directly to l'Orme
- Taking the Orlyval to Antony, and then taking RER B and bus 9 from le Guichet or 91-06 from Massy-Palaiseau
Note that you need a Orlyval + RER B combined ticket that must be bought before getting in the Orlyval; it will be stamped in Antony. All the trains which stop at Antony go in the right direction: if the next train shows Massy as end-of-the-line you can either wait for a train heading towards Orsay or Saint Remy, or take this train until the Massy-Palaiseau station (terminus) and then either take the 91-06, 91-10, or wait for a train going further to Le Guiche.
From the Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport
Take the RER B and get off at either Massy-Palaiseau or Le Guichet stations and switch to a bus. All trains stop at all Paris stations and some trains are direct between the airport and Paris.
In case of perturbation of the traffic in the northern section of the RER B-line (between Charles de Gaulle Airport and Gare du Nord) you may use at an extra charge the Bus Direct service that will bring you to several places in Paris down-town where you will be able to connect to the Metro lines: Bus direct line 2: Charles de Gaulle airport (all terminals) - Porte Maillot - Etoile Champs Elysées - Tour Eiffel Suffren; Bus direct line 4: Charles de Gaulle airport (all terminals) - Gare de Lyon - Gare Montparnasse.
From the Gare de Lyon Paris train station
Take the RER A to Châtelet les Halles (one station); alternative transportations are the metro lines 1 and 14. Change train at Châtelet and take the RER B line southbound to the Massy-Palaiseau and Le Guichet stations.
From Paris Downtown
Take the RER B train line southbound (B4 branch in direction of Orsay or Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse) and exit at either Massy-Palaiseau or Le Guichet stations and switch to a bus listed above.
The single ticket from "Paris" to "Le Guichet" is 4,45 €. The price of the “Origin-Destination ticket” depends on your trip. You can buy them individually or by packs of 10 (you can save 20% if you buy a pack)
